Project description:

The aim of the project is to raise long-term awareness and understanding of the impact of technology on human rights, not only in the world of journalism and educational institutions, but also among the general public.

During the pandemic, potential and actual human rights violations related to modern technologies (e.g. abuse of personal data, setting up discriminatory digital processes, etc.) were regularly highlighted in the Czech Republic. These warnings were mostly picked up by the media (if at all) from the non-profit sector, civic initiatives or ICT experts. The aim of this project is for journalists to acquire sufficient skills and knowledge not only about human rights, but also about the risks of human rights violations in the digital age, so that they can become important watchdogs of human rights.

The project will contribute to the improvement of the human rights situation in the Czech Republic by raising awareness and professional standards of future and current journalists on the impact of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, on human rights.
