Project description:

The aim of the project is to establish a Centre for Victims of Sexual Violence, which will provide a comprehensive set of specialised services so that victims can receive adequate support in a safe space to deal with their situation. The services will be provided to the target group of victims of sexual violence as well as victims of domestic violence and other forms of gender-based violence (with a sexual aspect).

The Centre will provide a unique complex of interconnected specialized services for victims of sexual violence; specifically: social services, professional social counselling, residential crisis assistance (including crisis beds), telephone crisis assistance, etc. Other services provided will include: legal counselling for victims, psychotherapeutic counselling, a special interview room, provision of collection and preservation of genetic samples and other evidence. One of the basic principles of the Centre's functioning is its low-threshold nature, which ensures the availability of services to victims of sexual violence.

Creating a safe space will make it easier for victims of sexual violence to navigate the support system and find support early. It is timely and quality support and assistance that will help to reduce their stigma and the negative impact of the trauma they have experienced.
