Project Description:

The project of the municipality of Zdiby, the Koridor D8 association and the Norwegian partner - the town of Vaksdal is focused to increase the quality, openness and transparency of public administration, the involvement of the public in the planning and decision-making processes. Particularly, in the Czech Republic, it concerns the area of 14 municipalities around the D8 highway north of the capital, and in Norway in the area of the town of Vaksdal the experience with changes in the town industrial zone, highway bypass and railways.

Growing investment constructions, such as logistic hubs, mining and chemical industry, linear infrastructure, railway construction and airports are a significant source of irreversible changes in the landscape, transport increase, changes in noise and emission conditions, changes in climate, landscape water regime and other negative influences. Municipalities and towns are forced to face these intents, engage in complex dealings and at the same time to communicate it all to the public and provide not only proper and complex awareness, but also support or active involvement of the citizens in the individual decision-making processes. The project responds to the need for cooperation strengthening between the local governments and public.

The project increases public administration qualification to be a competent intermediary of communication between the public, entrepreneur subjects, non-profitable organizations, and citizens in the interest of the sustainable development of the particular place.  

The Project shall implement at least 13 participation meetings in small municipalities around Prague, where linear infrastructure is being built constantly.
