Project description:
The project Káznice LIVE by Tripitaka focuses on the revival of the cultural monument of the former Prison (Káznice) in Brno. This monument with a turbulent history is currently in a dilapidated condition.
The long-term intention of the association is, in cooperation with the city of Brno, to restore the place's dignity, bring the history of the place closer to the public and create a unique creative center in the center of Brno, which will inspire the place with a new mission. The project thus builds on the activities of the association and expands the existing activities and efforts of the association to save the place and revive it.
Through activities, which focus on the completion of selected rooms, architectural competition of partial places in Káznice, small and large cultural activities, residencies for artists and educational activities, Tripitaka plans to revitalize the space, bringing its history closer to local communities and partners.
The aim of the project is to contribute within 2 years to the development and professionalization of existing cultural activities in the Káznice area in Brno, to initiate steps to save this property and to transform it into Creative Center.
